Boy’s Panther Parent Soccer Club Meeting Minutes – May 23, 2007

  • Present: Pat Hund, Jim Lacy, Al Fadenrecht, Kellly Gilbert, Kathy Miller, Fred Chittenden, Hilary Melander, Linda Kautz, Janet Karr
  1. Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer was not able to be present. Note made that, sadly, funds set aside for room and board at the State Championships would not need to be used.
  2. Poster Collections: Victoria Holt has taken on this responsibility. No report at this time.
  3. Banquet: June 7, 2007, Snohomish High School Cafeteria at 7 p.m. Parent volunteers will be needed for set-up as well as clean-up at the conclusion. Time frames would be 6:00 to 10:00 pm or so. Pat Hund will send out a general e-mail to players/parents regarding the banquet as well as potluck assignments. It was noted that perhaps the Fankhauser Awards banquet is also the same evening, also at the high school. We will verify the location and hope that there has not been a scheduling miscommunication.
  4. Bigfoot:
    1. A list of parents volunteering to work and needing to be contacted was circulated
    2. Need to contact Garrick Vanderbend of SYSA to make arrangements and establish details
    3. Concern regarding kids handling money, etc had been expressed by club
    4. Need for off-duty police officer for roadway management noted
  5. Scholarships:
    1. All 11 Seniors have written their letter for the scholarship application.
    2. Scholarships will be sent directly to the school so students must provide school name, address, student ID number to the treasurer.
    3. Procedure for receiving the scholarship will be sent to the Seniors by Pat Hund.
  6. Other: Fundraising ideas were discussed, including Dunk Tank at Big Foot in August, Mariner/UW/Everet Events Center concessions, recycling event, cell phone collection and golf tournament. We have a need for a fundraising coordinator. Several expressed that players themselves need to be more involved in fundraising efforts as they will be the beneficiaries, including potential out-of-state tournaments, scholarships, etc.
  7. Mentioned that the grass field at SHS needs fertilizer.
  8. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm; next meeting has not been set but could be discussed at the banquet.

Submitted: Linda Kautz, incoming secretary
