- 2. Big Foot Parking:
- Barbara has met with Snohomish Youth Soccer Club, given them a proposal and is waiting to hear back.
- Proposed an increase from 10% to 12–15% so that upfront costs of improving the process are covered (signage, printing parking tabs, etc.).
- Lots of thought has gone into ideas for improving the traffic flow and process; walking the lots during Snohomish United tournament this weekend should also help.
- We will have an on-line work shift sign-up; also at concessions and at the banquet
- Senior scholarship recipients to be required to work two 4 hours shifts
- Proceeds will be split between the 2 high schools according to hours worked by students/families
- Dates: August 14–17th
- Want 12 volunteers per each 4 hour shift
- 3. Scholarships and applications: Previous procedure and application form was not found in materials passed on to current board. Search for these will occur plus Linda will contact SHS regarding the procedures used by the community senior scholarships that they coordinate. Requirements, how moneys are distributed and what restrictions are placed on them, etc. need to be determined as well as the application process for the Seniors. It was moved, seconded and approved that Seniors will need to provide volunteer time (by themselves or family, etc) for two 4 hour shifts at the parking lot fundraiser at Big Foot.
- 4. End of the Season Banquet: This is for all three teams and it was recommended to follow the traditional potluck at the high school cafeteria format. Linda will check on dates of availability for the cafeteria and then check with the coaches to determine the date. Will also pursue details from the coaches regarding awards, what the booster club needs to do, traditional recognitions given (4 Year Lettermen, etc.). We need a committee to spearhead and coordinate decorations, awards, beverages, coaches’ recognitions, etc. Request for volunteers will be sent to all families on contact list ASAP – along with information on the parking fundraiser.
- 5. Website: Fred continues to do a terrific job at keeping up the team website and keeping us all informed! More photographs of the JV and Varsity team are needed. He will post the Big Foot Parking volunteer schedules when they are underway.
- 6. Poster: posters have been distributed and are also available at games. At this time approximately $1,800 has been cleared after expenses with $1200 outstanding on collections from sponsors.
- 7. Treasurer’s Report: Balance in account is currently $8,896.41. Upcoming expenses known include scholarships, banquet, funding for State Championship trip, Senior Recognition night, team dinners (?).
- 8.Concessions: Kathy Cheff and Barb Moe have coordinated and managed the concessions all season, with profits for the teams. Hard work – and well done!
- 9.Snohomish JV Team Community Service: Coach Raney and the JV team did a full days’ work assisting a Snohomish community member with home repair and clean-up. The gentleman has cancer and has been unable to maintain his home; this was a GREAT and unsung project, in the spirit of supporting the community and a valuable experience for the young men on the team. Barbara will contact the local papers to see if a feature might be done; so often these deeds go un-noticed in the competitive world of high school sports!
- 10.Other: Sid will send Linda a C Team roster so that contact information will be more complete.
NEXT MEETING: Monday, May 5th at 6:00 pm, Alfy’s in Snohomish
Submitted: Linda Kautz, secretary
